"Working with Vicky was fun, creative and really easy. She came and experienced Little Seed, which was refreshing. And on reflection, essential, to be able to create truly authentic copy."

What they wanted: ‘Wild but not hippy’

Rachelle Atkin at the Yorkshire Marketing Company had an exciting project for me...

She'd been working on a 12-month marketing strategy for a North Yorkshire glampsite and needed someone to bring its brand voice and messaging to life with greater clarity.

Owner Joanne Nicholson, had embraced the wildness of the glampsite's surroundings, creating a slow retreat that encouraged guests to escape from the pressures of a switched on world

Joanne wanted to sum this up without being overly dramatic.

They were based in Yorkshire, after all.

What I delivered:

1.

A straightforward voice laced with magic

Life on the Nicholson farm is straightforward and practical, but there are also touches of magic everywhere you look – dragonflies skimming ponds, birds emerging from between meadow grasses and a sky full of stars.

We chose ‘Make Memories Wildly’ as a strapline and introduced poetic asides backed up by customers' genuine five-star reviews. Design by ULTRALUXE and web developers Purple Creative Studio wove these expertly into the site.

It took some discussion to get the balance just right...

But it resulted in some beautifully authentic moments that summed up Little Seed’s wild nature, and what it feels like to be a guest there.

2.

Irresistible on-brand wedding package names

The voice (and site) was due to be ready for the upcoming wedding season, and Joanne was keen to promote a series of small, medium and large wedding packages.

To remain on brand and reflect the party sizes, I suggested Have & Hold for the small package, Gather Together for the medium package, and Love is Grand for the large package.

These seemingly simple names took lots of thought – and I'd like to think, a human touch that AI can't replicate.

3.

Guest experiences as Little Seed stories

Little Seed is one of those places you have to experience. And so, to make sure I captured the magic correctly, I spent a few days with my family in the site’s Field Mouse cabin.

I knew that guest stories (user generated content) should play an important part of the Little Seed story, as an endorsement of how special it is, and my stay reinforced this idea.

So, I introduced the idea of ‘Little Seed Stories’ to capture the experience through guests’ eyes.

For anyone considering a stay, it gave an authentic, unbiased view of what’s on offer.
